Kingsland Observatory has had a long relationship with this company to support the observatory’s many developments of its instruments and equipment. This has required cutting edge research, design and development in order to further the progress of the observatory facilities. In particular, custom made telescopes and optics which are application specific. The different instrument requirements needed for specific observational research. Having the company at the observatory facilities, with its engineering workshops and photonics laboratory has been a huge advantage. It has not only provided the astronomers with their requirements, but has provided opportunities of carrying out developments for many institutions and EU partnership projects in a wide range of photonics. In particular, adaptive optics, infrared instruments, high speed photometers, membrane mirror technology, 3D imaging, tracking and surveillance technology and space communications technology just to name a few.
